What We Do

The Power of Peer Support

Youth MOVE believes in the power that lived experience and peer-operated services bring to the transformation of mental health services for youth and young adults. The Peer Center supports peer-run organizations, provider organizations, and the mental health service system with successfully creating and implementing recovery-oriented programming based on the needs of individuals with lived experience and the recovery and peer movement.

We are able to provide training, technical assistance, and coaching support to anyone seeking to integrate or strengthen recovery-oriented services and supports. Our staff has a diversity of experience and skills and we look forward to supporting the growth of the youth peer and recovery movement. Click here to request TA.

Direct Technical Assistance

We offer responsive technical assistance with a tiered menu of options to make a long-lasting impact on all of our partners. We will work with you to assess your current capacity and identify where TA will have the greatest impact. We will target priority areas and work with you to establish a working, trusting relationship and identify strategic goals and outcomes based on your needs.

Learning Communities

We host an annual learning community that brings together peer and provider organizations to make promising measurable changes to mental health service systems. These learning communities will address the varying needs of the workforce and encourage positive outcomes, program effectiveness, and the expansion of recovery oriented services and supports. We will explore topics like youth engagement in consumer run organization, increasing the effective implementation of youth peer support, and peer support in crisis response.

Product Development

We disseminate resources to share information about mental health, youth peer support, recovery supports like supported education and medication management, and promote new ways of thinking about youth rights and voice in treatment services. The Y-TAC will create products based on the needs of the mental health workforce to promote development of the skills necessary for organizational and systemic reform

Training

We deliver a variety of training and education opportunities, both virtually and in person (when it’s safe!) to enhance youth program development, youth leadership, peer support services, personal and professional skill development, and family engagement.
